Sendim

Sendim

Sendim is a small town in the municipality of Miranda do Douro, in the heart of Terra de Miranda on the north-eastern Portuguese plateau. Since 2013 it has formed part of the joined parish of Sendim e Atenor, created by merging the two former parishes. It is a place of vineyards and communal harvests, and above all of the table: posta à mirandesa, thick-cut grilled beef, is the dish that carried its name beyond the region. The gorges of the Douro Internacional are a short drive away.
