From July 31 to August 5, 2026, Baião puts young people at the heart of its cultural programme once again with Semana da Juventude (Youth Week), six days of free music, sport and community activities. The main stage is set up at Praça D. Manuel de Castro, with further activities at the Centro Hípico de Baião equestrian centre and the outdoor pools of Campelo.
The music line-up opens with a concert by Julinho KSD, followed on August 1 by a performance from Van Zee. Free camping, with security and support facilities, runs from July 31 to August 2 for anyone who wants to experience the full week. Daytime activities include horse-riding experiences, free pool access for under-30s, a pool party, skateboarding demonstrations, creative workshops, paintball, sports tournaments, street football, open-air cinema and the "Prata da Casa" stage showcasing local talent.
It is worth attending because Semana da Juventude packs much of what Baião has to offer — live music, outdoor sport and Douro-riverside experiences — into a single free week, with only a handful of activities requiring prior registration. It is a direct invitation for families and young people to discover the municipality beyond its usual tourist routes.
