Casal de Loivos Viewpoint

Casal de Loivos Viewpoint, in the municipality of Alijó, is among the most cited panoramic spots in the Alto Douro Wine Region. From here you look down on Pinhão beside the river, and on the wide bend the Douro traces between slopes worked entirely into terraces — the image that usually stands for the region. It sits at the entrance to the village of Casal de Loivos, a few kilometres above Pinhão, reached by car on the road climbing out of the town.
