Pinhão Railway Station

Pinhão is the most photographed station on the Douro Line, and the reason is on its walls: in 1937 it received the azulejo panels that made its name. There are 24 of them, covering almost the entire surface of the main building and depicting the stages of Port wine production — from the harvest to transport down the river. The station is still in service, and arriving at Pinhão by train remains one of the finest ways to enter the heart of the demarcated region.
