MECHITA 2026 — Teatro Municipal de Vila Real

On Saturday, September 12, the Teatro Municipal de Vila Real presents "MECHITA", an interdisciplinary contemporary dance piece created by choreographer Sol Garcia, starting at 9:30 pm in the main hall. On stage, six women share a "mirror stage" in a choreography exploring freedom, femininity and collective experience — a genuine "act of resistance against forgetting" that celebrates womanhood through movement and the human voice.

The 60-minute performance is recommended for ages 6 and up and open to all audiences, with tickets priced at €4 (€3 with the Theatre Card), available via Ticketline or directly at the theatre box office. On the same morning, at 10:30 am, a free creative workshop titled "Herança, Memória e Corpo Coral" (Heritage, Memory and Choral Body) also takes place, with mandatory prior registration.
