Vista sobre o Douro (Folgosa)

The Vista sobre o Douro ("view over the Douro") is a lookout point on Rua da Costa da Fonte, inside the village of Folgosa, parish of Folgosa, municipality of Armamar.

Folgosa sits on the left bank of the Douro River in the northern part of the municipality, and the landscape around it is made of river and vineyard estates growing grapes for Port and Douro wines. From this spot within the village the eye opens onto the valley and the opposite bank. No published information exists on facilities or history here, so we describe only what is certain: its position and the landscape around it.

It lies about 5 km in a straight line from the centre of Armamar. By car follow the EN 222 to Folgosa and then the village streets; the last stretch is easy on foot.
