Quinta do Crasto, located in the parish of Gouvinhas, Sabrosa municipality, is one of the most prestigious and most photographed estates in the Alto Douro Wine Region. With documentary references dating to the 17th century, the estate has been owned by the Roquette family since 1994, who transformed it into a benchmark for luxury wine tourism while preserving authentic Douro character.

Quinta do Crasto is renowned for its structured, age-worthy red wines made from old vines over 80 years old — many of them field blends with dozens of traditional grape varieties planted together, as was the Douro custom. Vinha da Orca and Vinha Maria Teresa are the flagship parcels, producing some of Portugal's most internationally sought-after reds.

The portfolio includes Crasto Superior, Crasto Reserva, Vinha Maria Teresa, Vinha da Orca and various Port Wine expressions including internationally acclaimed Vintage Port. Parker Wine and other international critics have regularly awarded 95+ point scores to Quinta do Crasto's top wines.

Wine Tourism and Experiences

The estate offers winery and vineyard tours, guided tastings, lunches and dinners among the vines, and the celebrated infinity pool overlooking the Douro River — one of the most iconic images in Portuguese wine tourism. Quinta do Crasto is about 15 km east of Pinhão via EN222 (the National Wine Tourism Road). Clearly signposted secondary road access. Private parking on estate. Combine with Pinhão and Quinta do Vale Meão. Find accommodation in the Douro.
