On São Domingos hill in Fontelo, parish of Fontelo, municipality of Armamar, the Miradouro de São Domingos is described by the municipality as one of the most spectacular lookouts over the Douro landscape, "if not the most extraordinary".

The panorama takes in lands of the Viseu, Vila Real and Porto districts. Straight ahead rises the Serra do Marão; below, the Douro flows past Peso da Régua on its way to Porto. To the west you can make out the stairway and sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios in Lamego. The parish monograph also lists the municipalities of Tarouca, Lamego, Resende, Mesão Frio, Régua, Santa Marta de Penaguião, Vila Real and Sabrosa.

The viewpoint sits next to the São Domingos hermitage on the CM 1102 road, about 5 km in a straight line from the centre of Armamar, and can be reached by car. Views are long on clear days; bring a light jacket, as the summit is exposed.
