The Igreja Matriz de Armamar, or Church of São Miguel, stands on Praça da República in Armamar, parish and municipality of Armamar. It is the municipality's only National Monument, classified by Decree No. 8:175, published in the Diário do Governo on 2 June 1922.

Its construction possibly dates back to the 12th century, most probably the late 12th or early 13th. Tradition says it was built with stones from the demolished Castle of Armamar. It combines Romanesque and Gothic styles, with a rectangular plan of three naves and a square bell tower; the facade and interior are in granite ashlar. It was altered in the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries; works from 1952 to 1956 restored its Romanesque appearance. Between February 2022 and February 2023 it was rehabilitated, including the restoration of mural paintings and sacred art.

The church stands in the centre of Armamar, next to the Town Hall, and is visited on foot. For opening times, contact the municipality or the parish.
