The Capela de São Miguel is on Rua Campo de Cima in Aldeias, in the parish of Aldeias, Armamar municipality, in the upper, northernmost part of the village.

It is a chapel of local devotion, and we found no reliable source giving its construction date, style or a feast of its own. To avoid confusion, note that the church of São Miguel in Armamar, a national monument since 1922, is a different building, in the town of Armamar, and should not be mistaken for this chapel.

The setting is that of Aldeias, a parish created in 1947 whose people live mainly from farming: table and fortified wine, potatoes and fruit. In Aldeia de Cima there are houses with coats of arms, mostly seventeenth-century, several with a private chapel. The chapel is about 2.3 km in a straight line north-west of the centre of Armamar and is a waypoint for walkers on the rural paths between Aldeias and Tões. No opening hours are published.
