The Capela de São Gregório (Chapel of Saint Gregory) stands on Rua do São Gregório in Santa Cruz, parish of Santa Cruz, municipality of Armamar. The parish was called Santa Cruz de Lumiares until 1995.

The chapel was once the site of important pilgrimages. Even today the pilgrimage to São Gregório is kept alive on 12 March, with a religious service and a fair where farm-related products are sold, as in the past. Wage labourers on the Douro estates were great devotees of the saint: 12 March marked the start of a cycle in which they were entitled to the merenda, a meal of soup and a side dish. The municipality notes that the cult attached to this monument matters to the parish and to the whole municipality.

Santa Cruz lies in the south of the municipality. The chapel is about 5 km in a straight line from the centre of Armamar and is reached by car. To attend the pilgrimage, check the programme with the municipality.
