The Capela de Santo Ovídio (Chapel of Saint Ovidius) is a Christian chapel beside the EM 520 road, in the parish of Arícera e Goujoim, municipality of Armamar. We found no reliable sources on its history, so no construction date or classification is given.
The parish lies south-east of Armamar and had 185 inhabitants in the 2021 census. Traces of early settlement abound: the local monograph mentions the dolmen-building civilisation, hill-fort settlement and the parish church of São Cristóvão, once a chapel of ease of the church of São Miguel in Armamar. The soil is poor and steeply sloped, supporting subsistence farming of cereals, potatoes, apples and pears.
The chapel is about 3 km in a straight line from the centre of Armamar and is reached by car along the EM 520. As nothing is known about services or opening, anyone wishing to go inside should ask in the nearest village.
