The Capela de Santo António is on Rua de Santo António in the village of Santiago, in the parish of São Romão e Santiago, Armamar municipality, a few dozen metres from the parish church.

The parish history includes the chapel of Santo António among Santiago's religious heritage, together with that of Nossa Senhora das Dores, and dates both to the 18th century. We found no reliable data on the building's style or on a feast of its own.

Santiago is a village of ancient origin: it received a charter from King Afonso Henriques in 1169 and is mentioned in the inquiries of 1258. Potatoes, wine, chestnuts and cereals are grown here, and apple orchards have been gaining ground. In the village, on the first Sunday of each month, the fair revived in the 1980s takes place.

The chapel is about 3.4 km in a straight line south of the centre of Armamar and is easily visited on foot on the same walk as the parish church of Santiago and the chapel of Nossa Senhora das Dores. No opening hours are published.
