The Capela de Santa Catarina (Chapel of Saint Catherine) is a small Catholic chapel beside the CM 1102 road in Balteiro, a hamlet of the parish of Fontelo, municipality of Armamar. We found no reliable sources on its date or history, so we give no dates or classifications.

Balteiro lies on the slope descending to the Douro River, near the Bagaúste dam, and was known for estates producing excellent wine. Armorial houses and manor houses can still be seen there, witnesses of that era. The parish of Fontelo was a municipal seat from 1514 to 1835, and São Domingos hill, with its viewpoint and hermitage, is on the same road.

The chapel is about 5 km in a straight line from the centre of Armamar and is reached by car along the CM 1102. It makes a good short stop on the way to the São Domingos viewpoint, with Douro scenery all around.
