The Capela de Nossa Senhora do Cedro stands on the outskirts of Fontelo, in the parish of Fontelo, Armamar municipality, on Rua da Lampaça do Vale.

The parish history expressly lists it among the heritage of Fontelo, placing it outside the village, alongside the parish church of São Domingos, the chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, the hermitage of São Domingos at the top of the hill and the Paço do Bispo. We found no reliable source for its construction date, style or any feast day, so none is given.

Fontelo was a commandery of the Order of Malta and a municipal seat from 1514 to 1835, and was raised to town status in 1999. The territory is the fertile Naçarães plain, with vines and orchards, and São Domingos hill opens one of the widest views over the Douro, the Marão and the city of Lamego.

The chapel lies about 3.1 km in a straight line north-west of the centre of Armamar, and is a good reason for a walk along the parish's rural paths. No opening hours are published.
