The Batalha Elevator, inaugurated in 1994, is one of Porto's most peculiar means of transport. This vertical funicular connects Praça da Batalha to the Ribeira quay, passing through the medieval Fernandina wall. The short but impressive journey offers unique views over the wall ruins and the Douro river.
