Ervedosa do Douro

Ervedosa do Douro is a small town in the municipality of São João da Pesqueira and the seat of the parish of the same name, covering about 39.7 km² with around a thousand inhabitants. It sits in the heart of the Alto Douro Wine Region, ringed by estates and terraces, in one of the areas of densest vineyard planting in the demarcated region. It makes a good base for exploring the inland part of the municipality, away from the busier routes along the river.
