Gaia International Music Festival 2026 — 32nd Edition

The Filarmonia de Gaia association brings back the Gaia International Music Festival (FIMG) for its 32nd edition, running from September 19 to October 17, 2026, with support from the Vila Nova de Gaia municipality.

The festival travels across some of the county's most emblematic venues — churches, auditoriums, monasteries and other heritage sites — turning them into stages for a top-quality classical music programme performed by nationally and internationally recognised artists. The programme blends beloved classical repertoire with more exploratory musical discoveries, reinforcing the sociocultural value of the region's heritage.

Admission is free, making the FIMG a great opportunity to discover Vila Nova de Gaia's landmarks through the sound of classical music, in a journey that crosses the municipality from September through October. A visit to the Douro Vinhateiro region at this time of year pairs naturally with an evening concert in a unique historic setting.
