Gaia International Music Festival 2026 — 31st Edition

The Filarmónica de Gaia association brings back the Gaia International Music Festival (FIMG) for its 31st edition, running from September 13 to October 18, 2026, with support from the Vila Nova de Gaia municipality.

The festival travels across some of the county's most emblematic venues — Igreja de Mafamude, Cine-Teatro Eduardo Brazão, Auditório Municipal de Gaia, Igreja Paroquial de Oliveira do Douro, Espaço Corpus Christi and Mosteiro de Grijó — bringing together leading names in Portuguese and international classical music through piano and violin recitals, chamber music and themed concerts.

Highlights include the opening concert on September 13 with the Filarmonia de Gaia, Camille Saint-Saëns' "The Carnival of the Animals" on September 21, violin and viola recitals on September 25, a prestige recital with Viktoria Mullova on October 4, and a Camões tribute concert on October 9, before the festival closes on October 18 at the Mosteiro de Grijó.
