Porto Cathedral is one of the oldest and most imposing monuments in the city, with origins in the 12th century. This Romanesque cathedral, with Gothic and Baroque elements, dominates the highest hill of the historic centre. Its Gothic cloister, lined with 18th-century azulejo tiles by João Oliveira, is one of the main attractions.
