FARPA — Festival de Artes de Pombal de Ansiães 2026

From August 3 to 9, 2026, the village of Pombal de Ansiães, in the municipality of Carrazeda de Ansiães, once again hosts FARPA — Festival de Artes, organised by the local cultural association ARCPA, which has been driving the village's cultural life for more than two decades.

For a full week, the streets and squares of Pombal turn into an open-air stage for a variety of artistic disciplines: painting and photography exhibitions, amateur theatre, live music and other proposals inviting residents and visitors alike to rediscover the village through art, framed by the sweeping landscape of the Ansiães plateau above the Douro.

FARPA is a great excuse to explore one of the most remote villages on the Douro's northern bank, pairing free cultural programming with a genuinely local gastronomic stop and the warm hospitality typical of Trás-os-Montes. It is worth setting aside time to walk through Pombal's streets in the late afternoon, when the plateau light gives the festival's artistic offerings a special glow.
