37th Avintes Broa Bread Festival 2026

The 37th edition of the Avintes Broa Bread Festival takes place from August 4 to 9, 2026, in Avintes, Vila Nova de Gaia, under the theme 'Back to Origins'. For six days, this riverside parish on the Douro celebrates its famous corn bread (broa) with food stalls, craft markets, live concerts, folk parades and family activities. Organized by the Vila Nova de Gaia municipal council together with local producers and associations, it is one of the oldest and most popular traditional festivals in the region.
