Vinhos a Descobrir 2026 — Harvest Edition

The harvest edition of "Vinhos a Descobrir" comes to Vila Nova de Gaia on 10 and 11 October 2026, taking over the Forte de Gaia, Autograph Collection, right by the Douro river. The event brings together more than 100 wines from small and medium Portuguese producers, many of them rarely seen through conventional sales channels, in a showcase built to spotlight winemakers who usually work outside the limelight.

Over the two days, visitors can join guided tastings, talk directly with the producers, discover lesser-known grape varieties and regions, and enjoy a gourmet area with snacks matched to the wines being poured. Gaia was chosen deliberately: the municipality is the historic home of the Port wine cellars and a symbol of Douro winemaking tradition, making it a natural stage for this kind of celebration.

It is a worthwhile stop for anyone who wants to look beyond the best-known labels and get closer to the work of small producers from the Douro and other Portuguese wine regions, at a time of year — right after the grape harvest — that is particularly meaningful for the industry.
