Ópera na Academia e na Cidade — Ópera e Zarzuela 2026

On August 13, 2026, at 9:30pm, Praça 6 de Abril in Carrazeda de Ansiães becomes an open-air concert hall for "Ópera na Academia e na Cidade — Ópera e Zarzuela", an evening bringing together some of the most beautiful moments from the lyric repertoire performed by a quality cast.

The programme moves through well-known arias and duets from Italian and French opera, interwoven with zarzuela pieces, the Spanish lyric genre that shares many musical and cultural affinities with the traditional songbook of the Trás-os-Montes and Douro interior. It is designed to bring classical music to audiences who would not normally have easy access to it, staging it right in the historic centre of the town.

The concert is part of Carrazeda de Ansiães Municipality's summer cultural programme and offers a lovely opportunity for families and classical music lovers to spend a different kind of evening by the Tua river. Admission is free; arriving early is recommended to secure a spot in the square.
