Vindouro — Wine & History 2026

Regarded as the largest and oldest wine fair in the Douro, Vindouro — Wine & History returns to Praça do Marquês in São João da Pesqueira from September 4 to 6, 2026. The event gathers more than a hundred producers of Douro DOC wine and Port wine, letting visitors taste and buy directly from winemakers and estates across the region. The programme recreates the 18th-century Pombaline atmosphere with a traditional Pombaline procession, a Pombaline craft and produce market, and a Pombaline dinner at Palácio do Cidrô. The 2026 music line-up includes performances by Rui Veloso, Carolina Deslandes and Richie Campbell on the main stage. São João da Pesqueira is one of Portugal's leading Port wine-producing municipalities, and this festival — named National Event of the Year by the Portuguese Wine Municipalities Association — is one of the best ways to explore that winemaking heritage. Admission is free; tastings and purchases are paid directly to producers.
