Douro Vineyard Marathon 2026 — Pinhão

The Douro Vineyard Marathon 2026 takes place in Pinhão on May 9-10, offering a unique sporting experience amid one of the world's most beautiful landscapes. Participants run through the famous terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the Douro River always in sight.

The event offers routes adapted to all levels: a 10 km run for beginners, a 21 km half marathon, and a full 42 km marathon for the most experienced runners. Aid stations along the route feature, of course, Douro wine and regional products.

Pinhão is the heart of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro, surrounded by the region's most famous quintas. Its train station, famous for the azulejo tile panels depicting vineyard life, is the ideal starting point to explore the more remote Douro valleys.
