Our Lady of Remédios Festival 2026

The Festival of Our Lady of Remédios returns to Lamego from August 21 to September 9, 2026, centred on the Santuário dos Remédios and its famous baroque staircase. The highlight is the century-old Procissão de Triunfo, a religious procession held for more than 130 years, alongside the Marcha Luminosa (illuminated parade), the Batalha das Flores (flower battle), an ethnographic parade and a folklore festival. The 2026 music line-up features Portuguese rock legends Xutos & Pontapés on August 27, plus Sara Correia, Quatro e Meia and Plutónio. It is one of the largest religious and popular festivals in the Douro region, drawing thousands of visitors to Lamego, a city renowned for its hilltop sanctuary and proximity to the Douro river. Most of the programme, including the processions, is free to attend, though some headline concerts may have paid enclosures.
