Porto Book Fair 2026 — 13th Edition

From August 21 to September 6, 2026, the Jardins do Palácio de Cristal in Porto host the 13th edition of the Porto Book Fair. Over 17 days, more than 200 activities and around 140 stands turn Avenida das Tílias into a meeting point for readers, writers, booksellers and publishers, with free admission.

This year's edition pays tribute to Porto-born poet Inês Lourenço, whose career is celebrated through a dedicated programme of more than a dozen initiatives, including an exhibition on her work, a concert inspired by her poetry ("A todas estas riquezas fugidias chamei alma", August 22) and a staged reading of her poems on the war in Palestine on opening night.

Beyond the tribute programme, the fair brings together book presentations, talks, debates, concerts, open-air film screenings, staged readings, workshops and family activities for all ages. Overlooking the Douro river with sweeping views of the city, the Crystal Palace Gardens are one of Porto's favourite viewpoints, making this fair an excellent combination of literature, culture and scenery for anyone visiting the region over the summer.
