The Douro Harvest River Cruise 2026 is one of the most unforgettable experiences you can have in Portugal. Over four days, September 19-22, sail the Douro River at the most vibrant time of year — the grape harvest — as the hillsides turn ochre and gold and the scent of grapes fills the air.
Aboard a modern river cruise ship, you'll travel from Porto to Barca de Alva in the heart of the Douro Superior, stopping at Régua, Pinhão and other wine villages along the way. Each stop includes visits to quintas where you can actively participate in the harvest — treading grapes, cutting bunches and discovering the secrets of winemaking.
The cruise includes full board with menus created by regional chefs, daily wine tastings, organised excursions at each port, folk music performances and the guidance of a specialist in Douro history and culture.
