Feira do Petisco 2026 — Mesão Frio Tapas Fair

From July 24 to 26, 2026, the Mesão Frio Municipal Council hosts another edition of the Feira do Petisco, a traditional tapas and appetizer fair set up next to the town's Industrial Zone. Over three evenings, the fairground fills with stalls serving classic Portuguese petiscos alongside local Douro wine and live music, making it one of the highlights of the summer calendar in this small riverside town.

The programme pairs regional gastronomy — cured meats, cheeses, cod dishes and other homemade snacks — with live musical performances that draw visitors from across the municipality and neighbouring towns. It also gives small local producers and associations a chance to showcase their products to a wider audience.

Sitting on the banks of the Douro between Peso da Régua and Vila Real, Mesão Frio is the smallest municipality in its district, but one of the most authentic for travellers wanting to experience Douro food culture away from the busier tourist routes. Entry is free and the fair is family-friendly, with plenty of room for children.
