Douro and Port Wine Competition 2026

The Douro and Port Wine Competition 2026, organised by IVDP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto), takes place in Régua April 22-24 and is the region's largest and most prestigious wine competition. Hundreds of Douro wines and Port wines from across the region are evaluated by an international jury panel, in a rigorous process culminating in the award of Gold Medals, Silver Medals, and Grand Gold Medals.

IVDP is the body that oversees production, quality control and promotion of Douro wines and Port wine. Its annual competition is a fundamental barometer of vintage quality and style trends in the region.

Award-winning wines receive the right to display the distinction on their labels, which has a significant impact on sales and producer recognition nationally and internationally.
